Postdoc position in theory of opto-mechanical systems
Laboratoire Ondes et Matière d’Aquitaine, Université de Bordeaux and CNRS, France
Detecting and monitoring mechanical systems at the nanoscale has important applications in sensing, quantum computation, quantum limited detection, and in general for the understanding of new phenomena at the nanoscale.
In the framework of a project financed by the French national agency ANR, we offer a two- years postdoc position aimed to the theoretical investigation of nanowires coupled to optical micro-cavities. The activity will be developed in close collaboration with three experimental groups in France, participating to the project. The candidate should have a PhD in theoretical physics in condensed matter physics or quantum optics. Previous experience in opto- mechanical systems is a plus, but is not required.
Our group as a long-standing activity in theory of nano-electromechanics and opto-mechanics. The candidate will be integrated in the Condensed Matter Theory group of the LOMA, in a dynamical and active community. The Bordeaux site is part of the excellence initiative IDEX, and offers an ideal environment for developing this research. Interested candidates can apply by email to Fabio.pistolesi at u-bordeaux.fr.
She or He will need to send a CV, a motivation letter, and arrange for two letters of recommendation.
