ISOMERIZATION, TWISTED STATES

The flexible molecular compounds, for example stilbenoides, as well as their N-heteroaromatic analogues changes their electronic and geometric structure after interaction with the light. The studies of these simple molecules are of great interest for the photochemistry. Considering these compounds as simplest building blocks, more complex organic materials for non-linear optics, opto-electronics, information recording and storing, laser dyes can be developed.

Our research is devoted for the discovering of the excited state particularities as well as the relaxation pathways from the excited states (isomerisation, twisting, inversion, “loose bolt” behaviour) of donor-acceptor substituted flexible molecular compounds and the influence of cation coordination on their photophysical and photochemical properties.
