No boson is an island
Advances in quantum technologies give us the opportunities to implement and study unique many-body dynamics. In this talk, I will present some of my theoretical work, which aims at better understanding such many-body effects, specifically in systems of bosonic particles. On the one hand, I will show how bosonic statistics may lead to complex tranfsport properties, even in the absence of direct interactions between particles. On the other hand, I will show how phase transitions can be engineered in such systems, and be put to use for quantum sensing tasks. For each of these aspects, I will discuss both the main theoretical concepts and proposed implementations, in particular in superconducting circuits and optomechanical systems.
