Abstract :

Small vibrational systems have remarkable properties, which enable a broad range of applications and pose challenging physical, mathematical, and engineering problems. Some of these problems and the ways to approach them will be outlined. Time permitting, the relation to other disciplines, such as chemistry and population dynamics, will be discussed.
