“Topological states originated by frustrated magnetic systems”

Frustrated magnetic systems has been a wide and intense field of research in the last decades. In parallel to it, te subject of topological insulators has also been extensively studied in the last years. In this talk we will give a short in introduction to this two fascinating subjects and then relate them by studying an example of a magnetic system coupled to electronic degrees of freedom. It turns out that the magnetic background is at the origin of a band structure for the electrons with a non-trivial topological structure. We will discuss also the implication for the thermal Hall effect of this magnetic system due to magnons transport. The aim of the presentation is to be very pedagogical and oriented towards a public of non-specialists.
