Stochastic Thermodynamics Experiments and Quantum Dots Supercrystal in an Optical Trap
Stochastic thermodynamics describes ‘small’ non-equilibrium systems subject to thermal fluctuations.
Some results from this field will be illustrated using experiments carried out on colloidal particles in an optical trap. The measure of position fluctuations will allow us to study deep out-of-equilibrium relations known as fluctuation theorems.
Next, we will focus on optical forces acting on colloidal particles hosting many quantum emitters by measuring the displacement and the fluorescence of self-assembled supercrystals of quantum dots in an optical trap.
