Statistical Physics

Presentation

Note for Prospective PhD Students :
The Statistical physics group proposes a wide range of research opportunities for PhD students. Please check out the individual web pages to see what our current research activities are and do not hesitate to contact us for further information.

Research

  • Non-equilibrium statistical mechanics – transport theory, ageing, phase ordering kinetics
  • Soft condensed matter theory- electrostatic effects, fluctuation induced interactions, physics of interfaces, dynamics and statics of membranes
  • Disordered and complex systems – spin glasses, random matrix theory, statistical mechanics of algorithms and optimization
  • Theory of excitonic materials, organic semi-conductors and hetero-interfaces
